We the Gods?



Human trying to understand the universe and the purpose of his existence is like a software trying to understand about the computer and its creators. First of all, the software is trapped inside the memory of a digital processing system and its existence is only a sequence of switching gates. Can we say that the software instructions is its physical existence and the execution is its life or soul.

For software, the power-on is the great big-bang. Before that the time (the system clock) as they know it - did not exist. For them, the universe started from the moment a random noise on the switch caused the oscillator to tick. The clock speed is the speed of light that puts the maximum limit on everything that happens in its universe. Any event can happen only in a quantum steps of the system clock. Every Time the power is turned on, the universe starts expanding from the first clock to the bootloader to the full blown operating system almost in the same way.

There are many programs running in a computer and one processor executes them all. Is the processor the brahamam of advaitha - the single consciousness that illuminates all the beings ?

Can the software ever conceive the things beyond it boundaries - the instructions, memory and processor - let alone the physical world and the human beings who created them. What about the purpose of its existence? We, the creator of software, know the purpose of each software that we create (most of the time) but can the software will ever come close enough to knowing its purpose for its own existence or its creator ?

In the software world, are the different computers like different universes. Can one software contact to another software in a different computer ? What if the computers are connected through a network - is it the wormhole of software universe ?

If ever the software gets conscious, will it become spiritual ? will it consider us the Gods?
Will there be atheist software that claims that they automatically came into existence from simple to complex form through the process of fitness of executions ? Will they present the fossils (older versions of the software) lying in the hard disk as proof for natural software evolution ?

Will there be some spiritual software that tries to communicate with us ? through what kind of prayer and for what kind of requests ? Will we be able to hear them or grant them their request ?
Are the software glitches the way of them getting our attention ? Are the bug fixes the way we grant their request by fix their life ?

There are two orthogonal, equally valid and equally unverifiable axioms about the foundation of reality that existed for a long time in our society. One is from the west, which is the scientific worldview. It claims that the world is made of matter. This matter came out of nothing, from matter came the life form, the simple organisms first and then the complex one. The complex organisms later developed a central nerves-system, from this emerged the mind and the consciousness. This consciousness, that ultimately emerged from the mater, enables the organism to perceive the material world back. The other theory is from the east, which is the spiritual world view. The former aims to unlock the mystery of reality by dissecting the matter. The later does so by introspecting the consciousness.

Reality Check

Most people assume that the world we perceive is the world that exists. It is fundamentally a flawed assumption. If you just probe this assumption a bit deeper, you will easily arrive at the conclusion that the world that we perceive is the world that we create. I am not saying that the reality does not exist or that we create the world through our imagination. What I am claiming is that the perception is not a passive act. Image, sound, time and space does not exist outside our perception. There may be something "out there"  (if at all) that correlates to what we perceive . But, in order to perceive a specific form of reality, we have to create them in the first place. Don't forget that the unique point of view of one's individual reality does not exist without him.
